Dr. Allan Okrainec is Director of the Temerty Advanced Surgical Education and Simulation Centre, and Surgical Lead for Planning and Infrastructure at University Health Network in Toronto. He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Toronto. His clinical practice specializes in minimally invasive upper gastrointestinal and bariatric surgery. Dr. Okrainec is recognized for his work in telesimulation for the remote training and assessment of laparoscopic surgical skills around the world. His academic interests include studying advances in minimally invasive surgical techniques and technologies, including clinical outcomes and new educational approaches for training surgical skills.
